Our knowledge leadership includes training programs led by water and communication experts bringing together young professional journalists from around the Mediterranean to communicate more effectively the value of water. Our goal is to transfer knowledge to hundreds of young professionals so they may raise awareness about water scarcity in the region and influence positively results from three stakeholder groups: media/journalism, research/academia and policy-/decision-making.

Pilot Project

In spring 2015, Revolve carried out a pilot project in Amman in association with the German Development Agency (GIZ) to train a group of 10 young professional journalists from Morocco, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Syria and Jordan. The participants received training in how water issues are communicated and then carried out field trips to implement their skills immediately by covering a women’s plumbers association, sanitation and hygiene in schools, in host communities and in mosques. The culmination was a bilingual English/Arabic report on Water Scarcity in Jordan.

Capacity Development

The Revolve training program consists of three reinforcing phases: 1) preparation, 2) implementation, and 3) follow-up that can be applied broadly and tailored locally depending on the partners’ priorities. This formula includes content development and content placement in multiple languages thus optimizing the media outreach and social impact.
